A piece I recently finished the decorative stitching on. I keep going back and forth on how to bind the piece, though, so until I make a final decision, it remains on my design wall.

 

Hand-dyed fabrics, painted fabrics, and painted/stamped artists' canvas, pieced and free-motion quilted to a large piece of unprimed artists' canvas. I described the process in more detail on my blog.

I don'y think I would bind your piece. Sometimes art quilts look "heavy" with binding.  MARY LEE

I agree with you... great minds, and all that. :D

The piece was ultimately mounted (sewn to) a large sheet of paper to which I'd laminated dyed cheesecloth. It allowed for clean edges and finished the piece quite niecly. You can see the final result here.
