One of my early UFOs

This has been stuffed in the back of a drawer since about 2002. I had hoped I would open that drawer and find it finished,but alas, no quilt fairy came to work her magic!

This piece is made of hand-painted silk fabric fused to long, skinny strips of low-loft batting that I then stitched together. Next, I free-motion stitched with metallic thread, stamped motifs with gold Lumiere paint, did some hand embroidery, then finished off with beading. 

I am thinking of cutting it up into ATCs.

I like the idea of cutting it into ATCs - what about postcards first and then leftovers for ATCs.

Too much work to toss it.

Me too!  I never thought of cutting up a UFO to use as an ATC...hmmm...you might have solved all of my UFO dilemmas.  And, think of all that agression I can work out while cutting them up.

I always find cutting iis the hardest part lol.

I have since found out what an ACT is on the site search facility - if the piece is sufficently detailed as to serve the purpose well, it seems a shame to cut it up does it not?  A 'Catch 22' situation - glad I don't have to wield the blade.

I really like it.  It wouldn't take much to finish it.  And; it's perfect for wearable art (vest, etc.).  Don't cut it into small pieces!  It's just beautiful.
