A piece from my Nov. 2009 solo show, a landscape quilt, from a photo I took last winter, here in Va. About 28x30" It is hand and machine appliqued, and embellished.  A wonderful quilt to make, it came together like a dream. I pair poetry with most of my quilts. This poem accompanied the quilt in the exhibit:

winter's song of sleep and rest

bird's wing silent search in the cold

snow's softly enfolding cloak

keeping watch over spring's noisy herald

That's a beautiful scene. It looks like it came together like a dream. There's something very seamless and fluid about it. Thanks for sharing!

Love it. I can feel the cold. Great shadows

The snow & shadows are so realistic & also very clever the way you quilted the snow to give it depth.
