I have always loved bears,and use them often in my work. The polar bear being the master of strength with all his power and grace is now endangered. I hand-dyed silk background, hand painted bear and machine stitched fish.
Fabulous. After having lived in Fairbanks, Alaska for 4 years, this evokes in me a scene of a polar bear swimming in the water reflecting the northern lights! I love that it gives me such feelings and that the quilt continues in my head. Beautiful!
This is a fantastic piece. The colors are wonderful and do remind me of the Northern Lights as well.
