I like choosing fabrics from my stash for the portraits I make. But I don't always have the right shades. For this one the fabrics are very dark. I don't know wether I can give this as a birthday present to my neighbour. What do my fellow art quilters think. Should I throw it out or not. I does resemble Jasper very well.

I think it's not so easy to use new and unusual fabrics for each portrait we do.I agree  it's a bit dark but it matches his skin and the whole face expression is quite alive ,so don't do anything more and give it,be sure it's a marvellous gift !

I love the image just as it is.  I have several art quilts and the faces are all different, unrealistic colors.  I purposely choose colors that are unexpected and have had wonderful compliments.  You did a wonderful job.  What a priceless gift.  Be very proud of your talent.  It will be loved.
