This quilt is showing 3 gates in ancient Rome,in the old city Ostia Antica. I made a lot of photo's and this triptich is one of the results. Of course the original ruin is grey. The tree in the middle gate is a photo I printed on cotton and used as background. Machine quilted.

As I've said before your work is wonderful, I was quite excited to see on the 'full view' that I have and use many of the same fabrics that you have used in this quilt. I often find it amazing that we can buy the same things like fabric on the opposite sides of the world - I just love the colours and hues of the "fossil fern" fabrics and use them alot. Thank you for continuing to post your work.

Your Roman ruins have got some oriental touch, maybe due to the blue colors .They remind me of the "1001 Arabian nights" tales !

Love the color choices, they create a soft and calming mood.  Your background fabric looks like ancient tiles.
