The background is needlefelted and padded to give a high relief effect of rock formations. Suffolk puffs were created from quilting cotton, satin and textured synthetic fabric. These are overlaid with fine silk and merino felt and needletefelted. Cellophane was ironed giving a bubbled surface resembling small pools of water. Micro beads were applied along with an assortment of stitched beads and Xpandapint was added and heated to give a coral –like look. The whole piece was needlefelted and then stitched and manipulated to create a landscape after the tide has left the rocks.
