This was done for a Sci-Fi conventions juried art show (didn't make it in, that's life) He was inspired by one of Larry Niven's series one that has humans living on the asteroid belt.
The quilt is done in three parts:
The sky - black fabric painted with dots for stars and a fussy cut of a planet from commercial fabric
The asteroid - painted fabric with Setacolor paint and Tsukineko Inks
The Belter Boy himself - painted fabric with Setacolor paint and Tsukineko Inks
I think that I am addicted to Fabric Painting!
