Sound of Silence is based on a photograph of an old country church here in Michigan. The church was decorated for Christmas so I wanted to maintain that theme with the quilt. I thread sketched the snow banks to make the snow look like the wind had blown over the snow. The garland around the church door is thread lace. The 2 spruce trees are adorned with Swarovski crystals to give the effect of snow glistening on the boughs. The tree branches were also thread sketched to give the feel of a cold winter's day. The rabbits are just a bit of whimsy.....I have 2 that live in the yard and they are very cute as they eat my tulips....the tails are made from wool that is from a local farm. I have tried to give this quilt a cold but cozy feel. Thanks for taking a look. Peggy from Michigan
