Gate in Rome

I really love ancient Rome! This quilt is made from a beautiful gate I saw. I was surprised by the many colours of grey I discovered.

I tryed to translate the grey into green colours. Hand and machine applicated, machine quilted. For the sunlight I used paintsticks and "golden'  fabrics.

By choosing greens over the 'natural' greys you brought ancient/dead scenery to alive!  Love it!
