"Winter muses"

My favourite time of year is winter and my favourite winter smell is chocolate. .   I love the feeling of peace and tranquility of snuggling in front of the fire with a good book or with a pen  with which to write my poetry with and lovely cup of hot chocolate.  The smell wafting in the room mingling with the smell of the burning wood of the fireplace.

This piece of work in made from 100% Cotton fabric,  Polyester batting,  textile paints,  poly sheen threads,  paint sticks,  inktense pencils,  crayons and colored pencils.  It is hand painted and machine quilted.

I love a quilt that tells a story and this one certainly does!  The workmanship is fabulous, the artistry wonderful!

Hello Catherine  Wow - I just love it.  Wish I could do something like that!  It must have taken you hours but I bet you enjoyed doing it.  I love being creative too and have just discovered this Quilting Arts page which has given  me lots of inspiration.  Thank you.  Dianne (Scotland)

Excellent mix of media's fantastic talent. You have the writer, the painter, the quilter, the sewer, and even the embroiderer, the drawer, a true artist. Thank you for sharing this.
