Garden Fresh
From juicy tomatoes and crunchy carrots to peppery nasturtium leaves, the freshest flavors come from the garden. Here in Florida, our gardening calendar is very different from the rest of the country, but for most people the items shown would be summer produce.
I designed this to be a companion to last year's winning entry Handpicked, which was used for July of 2010. The pea pod caps and other tops are crocheted, while the vines are twisted pearle cotton that was couched down. The binding is also crocheted, then machine and hand stitched with monofilament thread.
