I made this king size quilt for my grandmother in 1999.  She loves log cabins, but would never make one because of all the little pieces...so I made one for her.  She taught me how to make my first quilt after I graduated college.  She was recently placed in a nursing home for her alzh. so it came back to me.  I sleep with  it every night.  I found the pattern in a quilt magazine years ago.

 Very nice of you to make your Grandma such a lovely quilt,  I also made one for my sisiter-in-law how has also has alzh. She use to quilt,  but cannot do it anymore.  The colours are very nice, did you hand quilt it ?   Keep on quilting ..

Thanks for you coments.  Yellow and blue are my favorite colors!  I thought hot pink centers would stand out well.  Yes it is hand quilted with yellow thread.  At that time I had not tried art quilts and never dreamed of doing machine quilting!  Now all I do is art quilts using mostly machine quilting!  Boy how we change.
