This is an experimental piece that I just finished.
Incredible! I want to grow up and be you!!! Such creativity and beauty!
These eyes really speak to me. Please make a dvd and share with us this technic!
Greetings,
Anneke
I like the excentricity of your portrait ! the combination of mixed media and quilting technique is great ! reminds me of a famous painting, a portrait composed of various fruit. Do you see what I mean ? It gives an impression of abondance. It's nice to go off tracks !
This is just awesome....would love to learn this technique.!!!
Absolutely gorgeous!!! The seamless blend of techniques is fascinating. Please share how this was done. Thanks
It is really special Maria. It is much more interesting to look at than if it was just the portrait!
Thanks for all your comments! You can read more about how I made it on my blog (http://mariaelkins.com) beginning with the May 19 entry.
thankyou for the link to your blog. Really enjoyed reading about your process. I'm inspired to try those sheers again.
Hi Maria Elkins,
i love your work.I buy your dvd lesson.
It's wonderful!
I LOVE this, Maria. The layers add so much lovely complexity, and the stitching on the top layer helps pull your eye around the piece.
I LOVE this! I hope I'm this talented in my next life...just amazing!
awesome blend of realism and whimsy - an inspiration
I agree with Lindy101 a little envy in with the awe
I absolutely love this piece. The transparency and the realistic look into her eyes are phenomenal.
