This small wall quilt is made from a child's dress. The center of the quilt, the kimono, is sculpted from the front of the original dress and the kimono sleeves are sculpted from the ruffle that surrounded the dress neck. Each flower-edge and center on the kimono is hand-embroidered and beaded.

The surrounding vine is made from the main dress fabric and hand-appliqued to the base fabric. Each flower on the vine is cut from the dress fabric and hand-appliqued to the vine. The center of each flower is tied through the quilt using antique buttons.

The piece is hand-quilted with contrasting colors of embroidery thread. The inside border is hand-beaded with small, green, glass beads.
