My quilt is entitled “Home Entertainment Center-Circa 1964” and is based on my brother and I watching black and white TV shows in the basement when our parents wanted to watch “boring grown-up shows” in the living room.
I used ancestor photos printed on fabric for the picture on the wall and the image on the TV. I covered them with plastic and stitched around the edge. I used commercial fabric for the brick wall and commercial buttons for the cat/fishbowl, ball, and notebook paper (with a tiny pencil glued on it). I needle felted yarn onto the heads and needle felted yarn into a rug design.
