apron for a driad

I was inspired to make this for 2 reasons.  I love the Narnia Chronicles by C. S. Lewis, and I love history.  Aprons and their links with femininity, work, status and so on have a resonance beyond their immediate purpose, and this is what I've tried to capture in 'apron for a driad'.

This is part of an ongoing series of work which I've called 'earthsongs'.

I love this piece. I am drawn by the colors and the fact it is a apron. How creative!! I have a box of aprons I bought at a estate sale a few years ago. Some are hand made. I sometimes wonder about the woman who wore these and what her life was like. I wil definitely check out your website. Would love to hear more about how this was made.
