this is a sneak peek at a kalidescope dreamcatcher Ive been working on the last few months, right now it is just a top but now its time for the dreaded words , "Quilt as Desired", :( I always try to make the quilting design somehow relate to the design on the top but this one desires the extreme, For those that  might not know what a dreamcatcher is it hangs from the ceiling and catches your dreams it is like a spiderweb of strings on a round wire frame with feathers and such hanging down, the borders and corners have reverse appliqued words that show up in my dreams from time to time,  I normally cant make really nice stitches on a kalidescope because of all the seams but the black background allows for some show off stitches if Im up to it, it is going to have the spiderweb on the circle and a lattice works on the rest , but the hard part is going to be the marking of the darn thing, I will have to sandwich it from the top and pin the areas in precise places so I can turn it and mark on the backing ,Wish me luck everyone I will need it,  3 days into quilting update: the marking went pretty well, its easier to draw  a spider web than I figured it would be, took a day to mark it so that wasnt bad and now I have most of the 4ft spiderweb quilted by hand, so the quilting is going fine too. I really try hard to hit the middle road of art and needlework, and dont understand why working on a sewing machine is more relaxing than doing it by hand to many quilters, all the problems of the world lighten up when I get to just sit and handquilt, For the baby boomers out there remember the song Theres a kinda of hush ? thats how I feel when handworking,

Well, I do wish you luck but I dont think you will need it.  This is a fabulous piece already... I"m sure the quilting will only improve it.

Thanks , it is going well , the small stitches arent to brag about but they do look really nice and neat, I dont think a quilter ever gets to the stage they think their stitches are really good but we just keep trying and they do get better and better,

This is beautiful. I feel the same way about hand stitching (and I do remember the song:))
