Are those real measuring tapes or cloth?  And is that a metal washer in the center?  I love this!  You've given me inspiration on what I can do with all those zippers I'll never be using since I started quilting.  Nice work.

To answer your questions.  Fabric with measuring tapes printed on it.  Metal washer in the center.  Measuring tape was fussy cut and Mistyfused onto the vintage zippers and then hand sewn into place.  Then free-motion zig zagged on the top and bottom portions of the measuring tape.  It was a personal challenge for me, using a traditional pattern in my own signature style of utilizing zippers in my work.

Hi Jamie, it is strange to me how textile arts gets in the blood.  Every now and then I'll pop into your blog but not with any regularity...jJust enough to know you as incorporating zippers into your work.  Well a few weeks ago I was browsing my local Craigslist and came across a box of zippers, around a couple of 100, and I thought "should I email Jamie Fingal to let her know these are available" LOL  obviously I didn't...but it was my first thought.  I think I could be an official cheap art supplies scout.
