Hibiscus

I have worked on this quilt a long time.  It is 50" x 50" with a facing rather than a binding.  All fabrics are hand dyed.   The flower petals and leaves are each hand dyed then overpainted with fabric paint to create the shadows and details.   There is a lot of free motion quilting with triobular poly thread on the flowers and leaves and varigated cotton for the background stippling.

georgeous hand dyes and overpainting!  I love the pieced packground.  The colors are wonderfull and add a lot of texture and interest to the background.  I hope you will be entering it into a quilt show!  Brava!

Absolutely beautiful, the hibiscus is one of my favorite flowers and these are the most realistic that I have seen.  Keep up the good work!
