My first attempt at thread painting on a larger scale and now I am hooked on the method. I can't wait to try something in colors.

I think your schnauzers thread painting is lovely and for your first attempt - wow! Look forward to seeing your next one. I haven't really done any thread painting but have been wanting to have a go for a while now so after seeing what you have done - you have given me inspiration but I am not sure how to get started. Did you trace out the outline of the schnauzers on to the material and then use freehand embroidery on your sewing machine? Dianne

Quine- to answer your question, it is free-motion stitching, using a basic straight stitch. And I referred to several pencil sketches from the internet and clip art for the shading
