This was my first attempt at pet portraiture....My friend provided me with a photo featuring all 4 of her dogs. I manipulated the photo in Photoshop, simplifying the details, eliminating portions of the background, etc. I then printed the image on silk, using my Epson printer. The rest is all handstitched and quilted. I added beads to the blue batik for added interest and variety in texture. It's a relatively small piece, approx. 14" w x 8" high.
