This has been finished a little while, I kept forgetting to post it.

This piece started out with playing with paint on fabric. Later I came back to it deciding that it looked like an underwater sean, I added more paint and markers, then machine quilted it.

I thought it called for a Mermaid and started to figure out the pose. I think that took longer than anything else. Once I finished and attached her, it was on to the embellishments. I added beads and shells. The large pearl that the mermaid is holding is a blister pearl pendant that I cut off the bail.

Under the twin/rope braid is a finished binding. The grass on the side is edge finished by burning.

She is at the Ogallala Quilt Festival this weekend. Wish me luck.

Super ! the wavy waters express a very feminine touch that matches the mermaid. Your subtle color combination and the beading complete the fairy mood.
