This piece came about from an exercise in a surface design class at my local guild. We were playing with fabric weaving and I just grabbed a couple of fat quarters that went together. I loved the effect that piece that came out of it. My first reaction was "Ooo, a spooky woods".
I originally thought of putting Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf, but deiced that the piece was to small. I knew that I wanted the figure to be silhouetted and finally decided on just the Wolf or Wolfman :).
After the fabric weaving the background was quilted and thread-painted. The foreground fabric was appliqued down, and a bead added for his eye.
Machine quilted. Cotton fabric and batting 12 X 12"
