"Calla Lilies," Ana's submission for our Quilting Arts 2010 Calendar Contest.
This is gorgeous!
It is so peaceful looking, like I want to crawl into the quilt and live there.
Lovely. Nice use of dimension on the border.
So serene and calming. I love it.
silverstitch.
how'd she do that left border?
Beautifully done! Your's is my favorite!!!!
Good luck to you.
Stunning. Grace in every stitch.
great work. very realistic
Reminders me of my Mother's wedding in 1944 - lillies were the only inexpensive flowers available during WWII. She is now 87 and still enjoys life to the full.
I could swim in this!
The background hues look like illuminated water and the texture is almost tissue-papery. Your lilies look sheer and watercolory. The border looks embossed and appears to be more than just a paintstik rubbing? I can't decide which I like best - the colors or the textures. I'd love to know your techniques... so lovely!
Love the textures and colours! It's wonderful!
Fabulous. I could gaze at this for hours. Would also love to know your techniques. The embossed border, the diaphanous look of the leaves, the shading on the flowers and the crinkled looking background (is that stitching) all add up to a wonderful creation.
Hi Anna... Bethany here from Kingston, ON and I am so excited by your entry. I salute your commitment to your fibre art and developing new work that is worthy of entry to QA's contest. I will be watching and waiting for my 2010 calendar with YOUR beautiful piece!!! Fingers crossed!
This is a really beautiful piece of art, I just love it!
I just came home from a weekend quilting retreat on Vancouver Island at which we had Ana Buzzalino for the first time, teaching two classes.
She turned out to be enormously popular and we hope to have her back again next year. She is a wonderful teacher and an extremely creative and talented artist.
Gorgeous!
beautiful....so rich in color, texture and essence.... well done... brings to my mind serenity and music - music like a ballet Congratulations!
