This is an original handpainted silk art quilt. Many of the elements were drawn on silk and painted and finally appliqued  onto the hand painted silk background. Then thread painting was used for more detail & texture, the tree bark. for example and the birds nest. The wildflowers were inhanced with thread painting as well.

Lovely details! I'd LOVE to see a close-up pic of the bark and flowers, as it looks like the thread painting is really intensive. How big is the piece?
