Dollie is a fiber "paper doll" of quilted wet and needle felting.
Dollie is cut from the cabled front of a felted sweater I found at the local Goodwill. The outfits are a mix of needle wet felted sweaters and wool yardage. The button is a VERY old dime from my great-grandmother's button box - thought it an appropriate way to hang the purse. :-) As I live in the Haight Ashbury / San Francisco, Dollie has both her downtown outfit, complete with pearls, and weekend wear, including polymer clay iPod. Buttons attach the outfits to Dollie.
The quilted background is cotton/wool batting with Ritz dye -- from a
Quilting Arts article (can't remember the issue), and wet felted
sweaters.
I had fun with this one, and I hope Dollie gives you memories of your days with paper dolls!
