Terrie: "My intention was to create a small art quilt on
time management. Managing my time was important when I was working but I have
discovered that I need to manage my time even more carefully in retirement.
Because others are involved in my club activities and my varied interests, my
days fly by quickly thus the blurry image of the clock's face. I am unhappy
with the traditional look of the added border strips and am unsure as to how to
make this quilt more exciting."
Kaye: "I unpicked the entire quilt, including each
border, and took off the clock faces and the card. I repieced the quilt, adding
circle fabrics and separating the time saying leaving a space at the top of the
quit where the owner could write one last time message in her own handwriting.
I searched various thrift stores to see if I could find clock faces and hands in
different sizes. I decided the best way to quilt this pieces was to do it with
circles. Since I have a Bernina circle attachment, I made random circles
overlapping each other to express the movement of time."
