& Sparkles in Trees" • 14" x 10"
Lois: "My plan in creating this botanical art quilt was
to depict an interesting nature theme piece. As sometimes happens in my work, I
got partway in and wasn't sure where to go from there. I felt that the piece
perhaps lacked focus. I wasn't sure it had the focal point and movement that it
needed yet. When this happens I usually set the piece aside and wait for
inspiration to bubble up. That never quite happened with this piece and other
projects kept slipping in front of it."
Cynthia: "My eyes lit up when I first received this UFO.
It was right up my alley with the nature theme. I also knew exactly what I was
going to do with it--beading. I love beaded embellishments. I also love to come
across spider webs in the woods when I'm out walking and they are always so
sparkly in the early morning with the dew on them. So that was my theme--spider
webs and sparkles."
