haphazardly-pieced and vaguely "log cabin" quilt, approx. 3' x 4', using only batiks
I have this....Thing +++ for batiks!! Aaaaany and alllllll batiks!! I 've often used a piece or several pieces of this batik or that in a quilt, but , before making this quilt, I'd never made a quilt using...only batiks!! Whaaaat huge, great fun this one was to make!! In addition to using only batiks, I also decided to use...wait for it! No rulers or rotary cutters, etc.,etc.!! Well, o.k., I did use scissors to begin a tear, but other than that, alllll of the fabric was simply torn into loooooong strips of whatever width I happened to cut without ever measuring!! Once I had a loooovely pile of 'crazy' strips, I began to piece them together in a vaguely "log cabin" pattern. This ...'lazy' or 'liberating' (depending on your point of view) -type piecing was suuuuch a joy to do!!
