It's beautiful. What size is it?
It has an 11" wingspan. I am making smaller ones now, about 4" across and got rid of the pipe cleaner antanae and instead free motion embroider them onto the head. (less 'crafty' looking)
Do you have the pattern for this you'd care to share? I think it'd be perfect for the center "block" of a bed spread quilt.

I originally started with copyright free kid's coloring page butterfly, so you could go that route as well. Or, simply right click copy the blue butterfly above, or the blk and wht version below. Print it out in the size you want, tape it to a window or your light box, and trace the lines. Then you can thread paint whatever color scheme, in whatever size, you want. Have fun! And post a pic when you get it built! :?}
