When I saw this in the magazine I KNEW I would have to make it.  I may adapt it to look mor like the African villages my family and I are accustomed too -- with thatched roofs and maybe a door in a gate or a window in a kiosk where bread, soap, matches and other household items are sold.  your lovely piece is a seed of an idea for me (now only to find the time to actually create it!)  Really beauriful and sure to be handed down for generations.  Thanks!

Gigi, that sounds wonderful! if you make an advent calendar like you envisioning, be sure to post it, I am sure others besides me would love to see it!
