You can find the article I wrote on dyeing with RIT in Quilting Arts Dec 2008
This is the piece that inspired me to dye a bunch of batting and I just adore it! Even the back is gorgeous!
After seeing the article in QAM, I tried dyeing a piece of batting to use in a project under construction and it was PERFECT! It was so easy to do and so fast that I'll do it again and again. Also, the instructions were so simple that even though I couldn't buy the exact color of dye that I needed, I found it no trouble at all to mix colors and get exactly what I needed. And so much fun!!!
I had purposely been avoiding dyeing my own fabric, since I didn't think I needed yet another hobby, but your article convinced me to try it. Too much fun, there's no going back now...
You are so talented!
Just an FYI, this article is in Dec/Jan 2009
This is beautiful! What I dont understand is how the batting was dyes with out it frazzling all apart? Doesn't it all disintergrate in the wash when being dyed? It really is stunning. Silvana.
