Celestial Swirl

This was the very first original "art quilt" desing I  created and it came out of a class I took with Katie Pasquini back in 2007. The quilt won the bronze medal in the 2008 Creative Stitches show in Calgary, Alberta. The quilt was given the name Celestial Swirl as everybody that saw it while I was working on it kept commenting on how it reminded them of the planets swirling around in our galaxy.

No surprise this was a prize winner. It really does evoke the swirling celestials and yet in a untypical color scheme which I really like.
