The sky was a piece of fabric I painted, cut into diamonds and re-pieced. The fabric reminded me of the violent thunderstorms we have on the prairies. The foreground fabric was a fat 1/4 that I wet with water, twisted up and tied with elastics and let dry. The tree was created with a twin needle on fabric with no stabilizer. Beads were added to the foreground to give the impression of rain.

I really like the diamond sky and how the lightning is placed into it. I wish we could see a close-up to see the beads. Interesting method to increase the texture of the foreground.

Beautiful!  Thank you for sharing your methods.  Your painting is beautiful and I can almost feel the electricity from the lightening!
