My entire life I have loved hats. I love wearing them and making them. I was lucky enough to be able to apprentice with a well known hat designer so she made my dreams come true. She not only fueled my desire to make hats but pushed me to experiment in all different ways with fabric and sewing. I cannot feel fabic, sew on a bead, or take a stitch without think of and thanking her for all her time, effort, and patience. She is forever with me.
This was done by felting 2 triangular pieces of felt for the background, adding my cotton image and cotton heart into the felting, quilted and then adding beading, lace, ribbon, and the heart charm. It was finished by whipstitched cording into place.
