Bethany in Polka Dots

When I saw these three polka dot fabrics next to each other in the store, I wondered if I could use them in a portrait quilt. I wanted to use the tonal values of the fabrics as light, medium, and darks, but line up the dots so they were still continuous and uninterupted. I used this portrait of my daughter because I liked the unusual lighting. The sun was setting directly behind her when this picture was taken.

I really love your method (bought your DVD) and your polka dots fabrics ! makes me think of Andy Warhol's portraits.
