"Big on Texas" quilt

"Big on Texas" (c2009)  is 55' wide x 70' long. Original design.  I used hand dyes, batiks and  commercial 100% cottons. The background was pieced and the boot was fused using wonder under. It is extensively quilted all over. I used hand stitching to secure the city names going around the perimeter.

"Big on Texas" will be  part of  the Texas Museum of Fiber Art exhibit, Memorial Day weekend 2009 in Austin, Tx

Thank you so much for putting the size on your quilt.    Makes me miss Texas.  I worked in San Marcos and lived in San Antonio and Converse for 8 years total.  Reminds me of the big boots at the shopping center on the highway in San Antonio.  I knew it was Texas the moment I saw the thumbnail of your quilt.  Thank you for sharing.  

Is the Kerrville arts festival still on Memorial weekend too?  We left in 1989 so I am sure much has changed.
