Closeup of the Great Blue Heron from my piece "A Very Grey Day".  Cut and fused individual feather patterns from a small scrap of patterned fabric. Affixed with a decorative stitch using monofilament thread.  Very finicky - but a fun challenge!  http://www.quiltingdaily.com/media/p/52164.aspx    by Georgia Andrews, Fêteshui Studio

This just beautiful, I love all birds, born in S. Florida.  I can imagine what a challenge this must have been for you...but fantastic.

What is the actual size?

Looking forward to your next project..............edyth

Thanks for your wonderful comments Edyth.  I too love birds and these beautfiul creatures are in abundance here, on the west coast of North America.  The actual size of the Heron is 11" at his wingspan and 5" in height; the entire quilt dimensions are 24" x 35".

Best regards . . . Georgia
