I'm working on a fiber postcard and while waiting for paint to dry, I snapped a shot.

Cool pear!  Is that marker around the outline or the whole thing marker?

No, I took several different shades of dyed and painted fabrics and lightweight papers (like old baby wipes) and ironed fusable web onto them. Then I snipped them into tiny little fragments and fused them onto the pear, mosaic-style. The outer rim you're talking about is just snippets of the darkest fabric.

I may have ruined the whole thing just after taking that photo, though, by foiling the right side of the pear. I don't really like how it looks and work on it has schreached to a halt until I figure out how to fix it LOL.

How clever! I never would have thought of fusing baby wipes! Guess you could do that with dyed coffee filters; bleach some tissue papers, boundaries! Gum wrappers, paper towels, leaves, even!! etcetc!
