I became a quilter on 9/11/2001. I needed something to do to keep my hands from shaking and my studio was all in boxes because we had moved and the building of my studio room had not yet started. I couldn't find my clay or my sewing machines or paints but I found this fabric and thread and needles in the top box. So I sat in my night gown alone for days and just stitched not even knowing what I was making. This is the result of pure emotion being released through my fingers. I realized that day that the act of quilting could be as comforting as wrapping your self in a hand made quilt made just for you. This little quilt is no where near the quality of my show quilts or even my chemo quilts but it is one of my most prized posseessions.
