California Poppy - full piece

Here is the full piece as someone requested. It is made from muslin and thread. The 3D portion was done with soluble fabric and thread painting. The center is made from machine cord of wool roving and then I cut and sewed it together. The 3D piece is hand sewn to the background piece.

I like your poppy very much! A suggestion : you should use punch needles or a punch "embellisher" machine to fix the petals to the background. It's quick,easy, invisible and fun !

Thanks! I do a lot of felting and have a Janome needle felting machine. However, since the petals are all thread and quite thick, I think the felting machine would just tear up the thread. If it was softer than I would definitely use the machine.
