Since I 've been living in a mediterranean surrounding, I've got some nostalgic memories of the gardens in France.I love the iris a lot ! I first drew different samples, ironed them on "wonder under" fusible and cut them. I wanted to build a fabric basket with them, but I changed my mind when seeing them all together on my table. I decided to draw a landscape to incorporate them. I fused all scraps, added angelina fibers, tulle to shade some areas, thin and  shining plastic for light effects in the water as well as the sky.Free motion stitching only. I embellished with beads and special ribbons..and added a thread butterfly, of course !

Simply Beautiful...............I just love this quilt.  Can't wait to try my hand at making a version of it.  I am a purple addict.......who loves to work with angelina fibers.  Thanks for the posting for Fablous art quilt!

Irises are some of my favorite flowers, too. I love the way you captured how they shimmer and float on their stems, just like butterflies...:)
