Hand painted fabric with machine quilting.
Oh, this is wonderful... I LOVE abstract pieces and this one has great impact. How large is it?
Wonderful piece - I don't know if you've ever visited the Great Basin region of the USA (Utah-Nevada-SE Oregon), but this "speaks" to me of the wide open spaces and beauty found out here. Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you for your comments. I am thrilled by them.
Approachable Art It is a small piece, A4 size approx. 81/2 x 11 inches and it is my contribution to the Little Gem Tombola which is taking place at the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham UK this August. I might attempt something similar in a larger size.
Krys I have visited the US but not the Great Basin that you talk of. My inspiration came from the Heritage Coast in South Wales, where I am fortunate enough to live. There are lots of days when the sky is grey but the sun has paid us a visit recently and I feel inspired to attempt a Summer Shore. However I am thrilled that it spoke to you in a different way. This to me is a great compliment!
This is a beautiful piece. I love the minimalistic feel to it. Keep it up!
One of my favorite pieces I've seen here....so unique! I love seeing the individual interpretations in quilting. It really allows for a wide array of personality and talent. Your quilt is really awesome, and would appeal to all genders, all ages.
