This is a rare piece of work for me as I usually have quilts which have people. It is quite small 5 x 7 and was a bit fiddly, but I quite enjoyed creating it. Conkers or Horse chestnuts are used by children in England as part of a game. They string the conkers and then try to smash their opponents conker with their own. The winner is the conker which remains. It's quite sad that some schools have banned the game for fear that children might hurt themselves. Health and Saftey gone Mad!!!

You have captured what a conker is amazingly well, and on such a small piece of work too! I love it!

How did you get the brown to shine and, with the shading, show the curve of the conker so well?  Is it leather?  Really eye-catching & fun!
