This is a 6 x7 inch original design piece done for a sketchbook round robin exchange. Painted background with embroidered butterfly. The inch wide panel on the left side is the area where all 10 eventual sketchbook exchanges will be bound together with string or cording of some kind yet to be determined. Each of the ten participants will end up with a book of works from each artist. I am looking forward to my final book!

What a fun Idea.  I shy away from round robins but this one sounds like fun for all.  This photo caught my eye as soon as the page came up.  I am impressed.

thank you for sharing

Gorgeous and in my favorite color scheme, too! Is the butterfly hand embroidered?

Thank you ! Yes the butterfly is hand embroidered using cotton floss. The leaf is done with sun painting with fabric paint. hand quilted around the leaf and scattered seed stitching with floss to anchor the whole piece to the batting .detail of embroidery and quilting.

Wow!  I'm so glad you posted the close up so we could see the detail.  Your embroidery and quilting are lovely!  What a fun project it will be in the end to have a whole collection of artwork from your group!
