I used a photo I had taken to trace the image to fabric. I then used watercolor pencils to "color" the barn and used alo vera gel to "paint" over the pencil.  I then used fabric  from  my stash to create the rest of the scene. The barn image is just 8.5x11 but I used the heavy backing used in fabric bowls to make the backing so that deturmined the size. I then did some thread painting and free motion quilting in the sky and for ground. I hope you all enjoy one of my first attempts at an art quilt. Nancy

This is wonderful.  I, too, like working with watercolor pencils on fabric and have found that they are actually quite stable.  Old barns are also a passion.  I have a lot of photos waiting to be something.
