I really like your barn, they are one of my favorite building along with farm houses.    I have a couple of questions, exactly how did you get the light center with a dark part of the barn and alo vero gel "painting"  I'm not familiar with that.

Riverart, thanks for the nice comment.  The center (or light part) was an 8.5x11 piece of white fabric that I traced the barn shape onto. After I "painted" the barn and sky and forground I fused it to the timtex and fused some fabrics from my stash as the sky and wheat field and tree and half of the red part that was not in the photo. I just did a whole lot of quilting and tried to make the fabrics blend as well as I could. I was at a quilt show down in Columbus, Ohio a few years back and I saw a gal demonstrating using water color pencils and alo vera gel to make the color in the pencils  run together so I tried it and I really liked the effect. I don't know if this method is perminant or not but my little piece is probably never going to be washed. I do think I will mess around with this method again and will try to see if heat setting will work to make it perminant.  Thank you all for the really nice comments I have really enjoyed your art as well! I saw this same type of thing done with colored pencils and textile medium.  The demonstrator said that it was washable with that combination. 

I use Aloe vera with Tsukeneko inks and I know that is perminent, washable and more controlable than the inks alone.  It is all so much fun.  love your work
