Heartsong Threads studio

Last year we built a studio. I named it Heartsong Threads. It is 20' x 23' and features 18 ft. of design wall which covers my storage shelves. I included a double sink so that I can dye fabric. It has French doors that open to a 12' x 20' screened porch. My husband and I can enjoy the outdoors without the bother of mosquitoes. The studio works! Another feature that I love are 2 rollout cabinets where I store thread and special fibers. They become wonderful surfaces for paint projects and sorting the threads I want to use.

What a great working space , most nice studios look like a interior designer set it up that one looks like someone who has work to do set it up :)

Thanks. I absolutely love my space! I was inspired by an article on Carol Taylor's studio. Her design wall looked perfect. I just took it from there.

This is a wonderful studio.  It does look like it was designed for work and convenience.  the screened porch sounds devine too.  perfect.

Thank you. One of my favorite things to do is open up the French doors and listen to the outdoors while I work. Although when it gets really hot and humid, it is best to use the ac and listen to music. I have a wonderful sound system.

AH!  Yes a sound system is THE most important unseen tool for quilters.  I just set mine of shuffel and let it go.  Funny on days when I am feeling low it will shuffel and play Christmas music all day.  Who can feel down with Christmas music even if it is in June. *smile*

You still have me with the screened porch.  Sounds devine.

Really nice space.  I often think about putting doors in my room so I can walk out on the deck and take a break.  My DH just rolls his eyes at that idea.  :)

What a fabulous space! You thought of everything from the design board to sink and the outdoors!  And what a great name!

Thank you. I haven't been back to the site for a while. Life just keeps on happening. I have spent lots of time in the studio, though. I still absolutely love it. It helps me work, and the work gets better because of the space.
