I had a request for a pattern of the puzzle quilt already posted in Linda's Gallery , and thought this might help to see how its made, I didnt have a pattern , I figured out how many blocks to make it the size I wanted, drew a little pic of a puzzle  and cut stacks of pieces and just made the blocks and sewed them together following the pic, xing out the one I finished as I went ,  the missing pieces are actually made on the edge , just waiting to be put in place , I wish I could figure out how to make one with some kind of picture in it but I couldnt figure that part out so just went with two wild colors , I was snowed in and got up thinking "I should work a puzzle today ", like my grandmother always did in bad weather so thought "why not make a puzzle quilt instead?"

Wow! I really like this one. What a great idea for a quilt. And putting the missing pieces along the side just like you would with a real jig saw puzzle. Genius!

This may be a silly question, but would the loose pieces actually fit the blank spots in the quilt. I think I might go nuts trying to look at it and figure that out. LOL

yep they would , I thought that was fun, I actually almost took out one piece all together , the missing piece that you just cant find, my first husband would hide one piece on me just to be funny , notice I said x husband he wasnt funny , even the background fabric reminds me of the plastic grain on the old card tables ,
